Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per chevron reversed Argent, the base per saltire Gules and Azure surmounted by two spears in saltire throughout Argent (Silver Gray), in chief an eagle Sable, head and tail feathers of the first, beak and talons Or, perched upon a demi-terrestrial sphere of the third issuant from point, landmasses of the fourth, in base a scroll unfurled of the first.  Attached below, a Blue scroll inscribed REDIMERE AB ALTO in Silver.

Symbolism
Red, white and blue are the colors adapted from Army Materiel Command, the parent command of the Brigade.  The two crossed spears allude to the units cooperation as the tip of the spear in supporting the Army and Joint expeditionary operations.  The eagle, the national symbol, represents vigilance and strength.  The sphere implies the Brigades global deployment capability.  The scroll denotes the contacting mission of the organization.  The motto translates to Contracting From Above.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 3 May 2013.
